About

National Centre of Excellence for Cyber Security Technology Development and Product Entrepreneurship, a joint initiative of the Data Security Council of India (DSCI) and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), works as a multiplier for cyber security research, innovation, and product development. Through the CoE, the Government of India and DSCI envisage creating a conducive ecosystem, nurturing innovation, and encouraging security product entrepreneurship in the country.



National CoE & C-HERD (Centre for Hardware Security Entrepreneurship Research & Development) is organizing an Embedded Security CTF (Capture The Flag) in collaboration with IIT Madras, to provide a platform for Students, Start-ups, and corporate employees to showcase their skills in Hardware Security.

A team may comprise of maximum 4 and a minimum of 2 members

ROUNDS OF Embedded Security CTF (Capture The Flag)

  • The Qualifier round will be a quiz hosted on the CTFd platform (Virtually).

  • The top 200 teams from the above-mentioned round will be considered in the preliminary round.
  • The round will consist of 20 questions.
  • These questions will be divided into multiple difficulty levels: medium to slightly difficult.
  • All questions will have a flavor of embedded systems. For example, crypto runs on an embedded platform.
  • The round may be hosted at AWS/ GCP (Virtually).
  • The participants of this round will get certificates.

  • The top 20 teams from the above-mentioned round, will qualify for the grand finale.
  • The problem statement for the grand finale will be based on ChipWhisperer Nano hardware.
  • The last round will have 5 questions, consisting of hardware-related topics.
  • The winners of this round will get prize money.
